AI image prompt generator

Turn a rough idea into a ready-to-use prompt for an AI image generator. Describe what you have in mind in a few words, optionally pick a style and what the image is for, and get three prompts — short, detailed and art-directed — to copy or generate right away. Free, no account needed.

Prompts are written by a language model and may need small edits. Please don’t include personal information.

Example

Prompts for: “a cup of coffee on a wooden table at sunrise”

Simple

A ceramic cup of coffee on a wooden table, lit by warm sunrise light from a window.

Detailed

A speckled ceramic cup of black coffee on a worn oak table beside a window at sunrise. Warm golden light falls across the table from the left, casting long soft shadows, and a little steam rises from the cup. Calm, quiet morning mood, seen from table height with the window softly out of focus behind.

Art-directed

A speckled ceramic cup of black coffee on a worn oak table by a window at sunrise, a thin curl of steam catching the light. Warm golden side light from the left, long soft shadows, dust drifting in the air. Photographed at table height with a 50mm lens at f/2, shallow depth of field, the window glowing out of focus. Palette of honey gold, warm brown and soft cream, with gentle film grain.

Tips for better results

  • Start with the subject and where it is — “a ceramic cup on an oak table” works better than “a nice cozy picture”.
  • Say what the image is for. A product photo, a blog header and a video thumbnail need different compositions.
  • Don’t try to get everything right in one go. Generate with the simple prompt, then fix details by saying what to change.

Frequently asked questions

Is the prompt generator free?

Yes, and you don’t need an account. To keep it free for everyone there’s a fair-use limit; if you reach it, wait a few minutes and try again.

Which language should I write my idea in?

Any language. The prompts come back in the language you write in, and Nystrel understands prompts in English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, French, German and Spanish.

Can I use these prompts in other AI image generators?

Yes. They are plain descriptions with no special syntax, so they work in most image generators. In Nystrel you can also keep refining the image afterwards by saying what to change.

Why three versions?

Short prompts leave more to the model and are good for exploring; longer ones pin down lighting, composition and style when you already know what you want. Try the simple one first, then the detailed one if the result is too loose.
